REFLECTIVE ESSAY

          When I knew that our project in English will be making blogs, I got worried. Aside from having no computer at home, this is also my first time to make blog, meaning I am not familiar with the commands on how to use this site.  But God is always merciful; He made my classmates as an instrument to help me in making this project. I acknowledged my classmates specially those who let me borrow their laptop.

           As I go through making this project, I learned a lot.  My writing skill improved and my speed in typing became fast. This time, I have already knowledge on blogs and how to use this site. I realized that working on blogs is entertaining.

         Thank you to my teacher, Mrs. Boniao who introduces this kind of site to us.

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

                                         

                                  

            What is a teacher meant to you? Well, teaching is a profession  that plays an influential role to the life of the students. A teacher is a light that gives us to the right path and helps us shape our future. He is an instrument of God who can help us achieve our dreams in life. Teachers treat us as their own children. They patiently teach us not only in the educational field but also our moral values. From these, did you try to question yourself, how much do I care and how often  do I say thank you to my teacher? How important are they in my life

         A teacher is similar to a hero of all the things they have done, offering much effort  patience and even sacrifices, we may say that they can be a hero. A man or woman admired with his or her courage and nobility. During my elementary years,  I was under the advisory of a teacher which I admired most because  of the way she teaches and her being herself.  She is teaching the  subject Mathematics and she really teaches well. These led me to  have interest in the subject Math. She really cared for her students. She provides us with different ways on how to arrive at the right answer. She makes some special sessions to those who find it hard to understand the lessons. She makes sure that all of us can get the lesson before moving forward to the next topic. She is the teacher of great persistence.  She encourages us to aim high and we should study hard until we will finish our studies. She gives uplifting messages that would inspire and taught us that poverty is not the hindrance to be a successful person someday. She warned us about, what will be our situation few years from now if we don’t give value or hearken to education. I salute to her on the way she handle difficult situations in her life. She is a positive thinker, a person who always looks after the good and possible outcome of the choices she made. She didn't lose hope and always have faith in Him. She is a woman with dignity and a soft-hearted person. She is my hero who inspired me a lot and who taught me almost everything about real life and motivated me to pursue all my goals.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

     
           She became part of my life and enables me to know deeper about myself. She is not perfect but she can be a hero to save numbers of students from ignorance. Words are not enough to thank her but the only thing I can do is to make her as “my teacher, my hero”.    

WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME

      We can say that Christmas is really here through the cold breeze we. The colourful lights and decoration are now displayed anywhere. Christmas songs are now being sung in worship of Saviour. People are now busy in preparing for this great event. But what is really meant by Christmas?
   

      

The Christmas season is one of the most awaited and wonderful time of the year. Young and adult reserved their strength and money for this occasion. But sad to say that most of us at this time don’t know the real essence of Christmas, they are after of the gifts they will receive and they are more excited for Santa Clause to come than Christ. Some adults also are very busy on parties than spending their time to worship the Lord. Through this action, we show that we don’t know what Christmas is. It is not the gifts, the Christmas tree, thedecorations, nor the food that make this season full of wonder. It is when weremember the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, that the Christmas season becomes truly special. During this season, we contemplate anew who He is and what generosity He extended to us by coming into the world to be our Saviour that through Him, we have an assurance that we can go home at any time, to live orever with our family whom we love so much. He is also our great exemplar and we are all His followers in word in deed. So we will love and serve our fellowmen, not only during Christmas season but at all times, even we got nothing from it. When we are in the service of our fellow being, we are also in the service of our God.

            The real spirit of Christmas comes from within our hearts to show our love to other to the Lord. May we live everyday with the spirit of Christmas and we may show
to our family how much we love them, how important they
    are to our live and how Christmas would be meaningless if we forget Christ.

FUTURE LIES TO THE CHANGES WE MAKE

                    Almost all of us want changes within ourselves, in our environment or even in the world we are living. Each of us has our own reasons why we want changes but mostly we aim to have a happy life for the better. Some of these reasons can bring changes not only to one’s life but also to the lives of the people around us, either it be good or bad.

                  If someone wants changes for the sake of humanity the change will begin within him and I am one of these. I want to have a peaceful life so I must change the bad attitudes I have. In our home, quarreling often happens between me and my younger sister. I easily got mad at her. Sometimes I cannot control my temper so I can do bad things to her. I realized that this creates a gap to our relationship as sisters and I want to change this. As an elder sister, I should set myself good example to my sister. I should be a peacemaker so that peace will prevail between us.

   

              The society has been a great factor to affect individual’s life. We need to have a society in order to have a good life. Sad to say, our society shows bad impression. Our environment is now polluted and many are not afraid to do crimes. We should look for the solutions of these problems because both of these have been the cause of our poor progress. We still have the chance to change our society… to save our society. Let us change it like the one before where surroundings were clean and people were at peace.

        

             Our nation, the Philippines is now experiencing different problems. These problems are not just ordinary, like poverty, big population and even political status. Our government cannot solve these problems alone. They need our help to change the Philippines rich in resources, we should be united as a nation to face and solve these problems.

   

We must be unitd to change the world.

             The world comprises nations, nations that consist of societies, and societies are where we are living. The situation of the world really affects the state of individual today and tomorrow. So we should be aware of the happenings in the world and take part of it. Throughout the world, people are suffering difficult situations in the different fields of life. The most serious one is that people lost their hope and faith to the Almighty God whish is the most thing we need in order to solve the rest. During this time, people must change from being hopeless and faithless into a strong one. We must still hope that there will be solutions for these problems. We also need love. With hope faith and love, we can change all of these.

            Changes may bring peace, progress, success and happiness but if effort and time don’t exist, everything turns to naught and no changes will ever happen. We love our world, our nation, our society and ourselves but we must put this love into action. Our future lies to the changes we are making.

                  The story thank you Ma’am was focused to a boy named Roger and a woman named Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones who crossed their way on a road at about eleven o’clock in the night. The story began when Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones walked alone on a road when a boy tried to snatch her purse. Upon reading this story, we will wonder what will be Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones response to the boy’s behavior.

                    It is  really good to read this material because we will enjoy and know an experience that gives a valuable lesson which we can apply to our lives. The situation when the boy tried to snatch the purse of Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones was not new to us. This often happened nowadays mostly in urban areas. But one thing I can’t believe is that there was a person or someone who acted kindly. Usually our first and fore most reaction to the situation, we get angry to them when we found that they were bad. Yes, at first, Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones got angry but after all, she was very kind to the boy instead of giving him some harsh punishment. Every adult has the right to teach those younger ones- the right from wrong. Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones has done a great part of leading the boy to the right path. For me, giving a special treatment is an effective method of punishment and one way to correct a child. It will also help the boy realize that what he did was wrong, in a pleasing way.

                  Roger told Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones that he tried to steal her purse in order   for him to have and buy a blue suede shoes. Then she replied, “Well you don’t have to snatch my pocketbook … You could have just asked me”. A comment to this situation, it is right that you may ask rather than to steal, but not at all times. If so, the boy will just ask to have whatever he wants and then may become lazy at all. We have been blessed by God knowledge and ability to work and to use it throughout our lives. There are many ways in which Roger can earned money to have a blue suede shoes. In stating her weakness in life, Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones can be the inspiration of Roger that even life is complicated, in order for him to withstand. He must strive hard and be like Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. Mrs. Jones did some tricks to test whether Roger can be trusted and that was a great idea. She found out that he was so.

          

          I can relate this story to my real life. All of us have sinned. As a daughter, there were times that I can disobey my parents; I can break the rules at home. But my parents are patiently there, ready to help me correct and realized my mistakes. Like Roger, I should trust my parents, who play a big role to discipline me, take care of me and nurture me to be as fine as Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones.  

OUR VALUES TODAY

                    Values can be of different meaning. As a conceptual definition, this refers to good attitudes of oneself. Values are essential to us an individual. Owing that these values mold our total human being, whether  in our physical body, in our emotions, in our intellect or even in our spiritual aspect. From the values we have, we were obviously penetrated from these and with the environment we belong. This also serves as an instrument to face our individual limitations.

         

        We are now at the stage of modern living and mostly our values join this sudden change. For instance, the situation this present time and the time   50 years ago. We can compare that there is really a big difference between the way of living and the traits or values people acquired. Despite this phenomenon, we were continually taught and encouraged to retain the good values because these are keys that open and lead us in our society. The influence of Satan is now at intense level.  Especially to the youth who were prone to these temptations. This may result to changes which can make their live turn to darkness and this is because of their weak values.

      

           Even though our world experiences great alternations and people also were kindled with the development, we must retain the good values we have because all of these will contribute a big, in order to survive our society. The best weapon we can have so that we will able to prevent deteriorations, is our values which is faithfulness, having faith in all things we speak, act, think and feel. We have this capability to help the government in our economy and peace of our society. Let us be united for the true values as a foundation of today, tomorrow and eternity.
